How do I invite a homeowner to scan an interior?

Invite homeowners to scan the interior of their property with the Hover app so you have the floor plan and measurements before the appointment.

Invite homeowners to scan their property with the Hover app and:

  • Remove the need for multiple on-site visits

  • Receive to-the-inch measurements, a virtual walkthrough, and other property imagery before the appointment, derived from the homeowner’s scan

  • Boost homeowner satisfaction with quicker estimates and 3D visualizations

Step-by-step guide


Step 1 - Invite the homeowner to download the Hover app:

If starting from the mobile app:

  • Tap Start a project or tap '+' at the bottom of the screen

  • Select Interior measurements

  • Fill out the Property details, then tap Invite to capture

If starting from the web app:

  • Log in to your Hover account

  • Tap + New

  • Tap Invite to capture

Step 2 - The homeowner scans their property with Hover:

The homeowner will receive an invite both via email and text message to download the Hover app. You will see a status tracker from the project details page while you wait for the homeowner to complete the interior scan.

If the homeowner has a LiDAR device (Apple Pro: 12+ iPhone or iPad) that will be their default experience and they will follow in-app guidance to complete the scan.

If the homeowner does not have a LiDAR device, they will receive the universal scan experience.

  • LiDAR scans are returned in about a minute while Universal scans are returned in about 3 hours or less.

Step 3 - Receive the 3D model, measurements, and more:

Once the scan has been processed, you will receive:

  • Detailed measurements (including cabinets, walls, windows, opening, and doors)

  • 2D and 3D sketch floor plans

  • Localized property photos, and damage photos (unless the homeowner did not record damage photos during the scanning process)

  • 360° virtual walkthrough of the space

  • Direct sketch and measurements imported into Xactimate and Cotality (FKA CoreLogic)
