Reasons to edit a project scope
Please be aware that editing the project scope will generate a new material list. Previously generated material lists can be retrieved from the project page > Materials tab.

If you've requested to have your property measurements reprocessed to reflect any measurement updates, addition or removal of gutters and downspouts etc., you should use the edit scope feature to access the most current material quantities based on the revised measurements.

Scope summary is the fastest way to review the material list calculation assumptions.
Editing the scope
1. Open a material list and tap Edit Scope.

Select a material template for each trade
To find the template(s) you need, you can search by the manufacturer, product line, trade, material type/substrate, and more.
Click Continue

You can use our 3D scoping tool to visualize and update which facets are included in the project, making it easier to prepare partial roofing or siding estimates.
Remove or add facets by clicking on the 3D model

Tap Select all or Deselect all to make facade-choices faster
Note: Making changes on this screen will not be reflected in the 3D designing tool and vice versa.
4. Slide the bar to adjust the waste factor for each trade
Note: You can make manual waste adjustments for roof or siding, or check the box to set Hover's recommended waste percentage.

Additional screens will guide you through the process of updating product style preferences and accessories (shutters, vents, etc.)
When finished, click Create Material List - you will be redirected to the material list page to see the changes.
Download and share
If you are satisfied with how your material list looks, download and share it with others as a PDF or CSV. You can also save it as a template for future use - no need to make those same edits next time!
Note that, if you applied Hover’s recommended roof waste to the template, disclaimers will appear on the PDF and CSV.
