Whether your material list uses generic or branded roof templates, you have the ability to apply Hover's recommended waste factor and include that information on the quotes or estimates you prepare for customers, insurance carriers, adjusters, or independent adjusters.
This function is available on Hover's web platform (desktop and mobile) as well as within the mobile app.

Applying recommended roof waste
If you have not yet applied recommended roof waste, a callout above the measurements column will be available on a per roof template basis. Beneath the callout, a total square footage measurement will be listed as well, which consists of the sum total roof area + current waste.
In the image below, Hover's recommended waste has not been applied yet, and the total measurement of 3,198 sqft is the sum of the total roof area + 10% waste.
Select the template(s) you want to use for each trade, based on your project scope
Selecting (2) or more templates of the same trade type will lead you to the area-selection screen, prior to the waste factor screen
From the Waste factor screen, click the checkbox(es) to set Hover's recommended waste percentage
Click Continue
On the additional screens, update the product style preferences and accessories (shutters, vents, etc.), then click Create Material List
You will be redirected to the material list to see the changes.
Once applied, clicking the callout in the center of the screen opens a pop-up screen showing the original total sq ft measurement, as well as the newly updated total sq ft measurement:
Downloading the shareable PDF / CSV
When you are ready to share the material list, download it as a PDF or CSV. If you applied Hover's recommended roof waste factor on the material list, it will be noted in several spots within the document.
