How to add multiple colors and styles of the same material type to a material list

If your project requires different colors or styles of the same material type, you can easily make those distinctions within the material list.

Use the interactive 3D model


After choosing the template(s) for each trade in your project scope, you will see an 'area selection' screen that includes an interactive 3D model. This is where you will designate specific roofing and siding facets for a material template.

When you want to use the same material type, but apply different colors or styles, clone the template:

  • Click the ellipses on the corner of the template

  • Select Add another section from the dropdown menu

  • Select the facets for the new template section

Update colors, variations, or profiles


After calculating the material list, use the inline drop-down menus to make changes to the color or associated variation. You may also need to hover over the calculator icon to review how the material quantity was estimated and update the waste and coverage.

Some templates have "Suggested items" which serve as a "profile".

  • You can change the profile by clicking the Suggested items drop down menu:

  • Then update the color/variation:
