Save a material list as a template

Modify or create new templates to suit your preferences for future use

Planning to use the same customizations often or want to create personalized custom templates?

Our Save as template feature allows you to:

  • Create new templates from the material list

  • Update existing custom templates

  • Modify default settings of the standard templates for future use

Not only can waste preferences at the template or line item level be saved for future projects, but so can line item unit costs - making the bidding process even faster while on-the-go or using the mobile app!

What other modifications can I save?

Modify and save things like:

  • Material line item names

  • Mapped supplier SKUs

  • Line item variations and unit costs

  • Waste selection on the template or line item level, and more

Any changes made within the โ€œEdit Scope" workflow can also be saved for future jobs via "Save as template" (e.g. if you want to include metal flashings on the valleys for all roofing jobs or update your ice and water configuration).

How it works


Once you have generated your material list and are satisfied with any necessary customizations you made, click Save as template in the middle of the screen.

In the pop-up that appears, you have the ability to:

  • Select the template(s) to save

  • Revise the name of the template(s), (optional)

  • Check Update unit costs

  • Check Update template

  • Click Save

Moving forward, you will see that particular saved template as one of the selectable options when prompted to select a template for any future material lists you create.

Updating an existing custom template is just as easy!

  • Open the existing custom template

  • Make your updates (ex: adjustments to product name(s), waste factor(s), unit cost(s), etc.)

  • Click Save as template

  • Check the box beside the template name

  • Check the box beside Update template

  • Click Save
