The Hover Inspections workflow combines interior scanning and damage documentation into a single, guided experience. You scan each room, answer contextual inspection prompts based on loss type, and submit everything — floor plans, measurements, photos, notes, and tags — by the end of one session.
Hover Interior Inspections provides:
Room-by-room scanning: Move through each space, scanning as the app guides you through the workflow
Contextual inspection prompts: Questions are tailored to your loss type and localized to the rooms you scanned, so you're never answering irrelevant prompts
Multi-level support: Scan and inspect as many rooms and levels as needed before submitting everything in one session
Two scan experiences: LiDAR returns a real-time 3D model in about a minute; Universal works on any device and returns results in about 3 hours
Two consistent outputs, one workflow: Floor plans, measurements, inspection photos, and a virtual walkthrough are delivered for import into your estimation platform - A web viewer lets office teams filter, review, and QA; an Inspection PDF mirrors the full workflow for easy sharing
Note: This workflow is specific to Insurance Pros and may not be available to all users yet. Also, Hover Inspections is tailored to your unique documentation processes and standards. If your experience looks different, or you’d like early access, please contact our Support team.
Performing an interior scan‑and‑inspect flow
Hover walks you through two steps to complete before leaving the site: room-by-room scanning of a level, followed by your inspection workflow for that level.
If you have multiple levels to scan and inspect, you will repeat this process for each level.
1. Open a project
Start a new interior project or open a draft to get started. Before you begin, the app shows guidance for navigating each room and reminds you to complete one level before moving to the next.
2. Scan room-by-room
Label each room and move through the space as the app guides you. When you're done with a room, review your scan and move to the next. Repeat for all rooms on the level.
Note: Images are specific to the LiDAR experience.
3. Finalize measurements and start inspecting
When all rooms on a level are scanned, review the floor plan and finalize your measurements. Your scan uploads at this point. Select your inspection template and move into the inspection workflow.
Note: Images are specific to the LiDAR experience.
4. Complete the inspection prompts
Work through the contextual inspection prompts for each room. Prompts are specific to your loss type and the rooms you scanned. Add photos, notes, and damage tags as you go.
Note: Image is for illustration purposes only. Task names may look different since Inspections is fully customizable to your unique documentation process.
5. Add additional levels if needed
If the property has more than one level, add each additional level from the inspection summary screen and repeat the scanning and inspection steps before moving on.
6. Submit
Uploading begins automatically after each level is completed. However, the measurements, virtual walkthroughs and more won’t be returned until all levels have been scanned and the project is submitted. This ensures all models are complete before billing or exporting to integrations.
Common Questions
What's the difference between LiDAR and Universal?
What's the difference between LiDAR and Universal?
The LiDAR experience uses your phone's depth sensor to build a real-time 3D model as you scan; you see it taking shape on screen. The Universal experience works on any device without a depth sensor; it captures photos automatically as you move through the room.
LiDAR results are available in about a minute. Universal results take about 3 hours.
What if my device doesn't have LiDAR?
What if my device doesn't have LiDAR?
The app detects your device capabilities and offers the appropriate experience automatically. Universal is available on any compatible iPhone or Android device.
Can I scan multiple levels?
Can I scan multiple levels?
Yes. Complete all rooms on one level before moving to the next. Use Add level from the inspection summary screen to begin each additional level. Inspections for all levels are submitted together at the end.
What if I miss a room before finalizing measurements?
What if I miss a room before finalizing measurements?
Rooms that weren’t scanned before you finalized measurements won't appear in your final output. If you realize you missed a room, start a new interior project to scan and inspect that room.
Where can I view my completed inspection and how do I share it?
Where can I view my completed inspection and how do I share it?
After uploading, your inspection is available from the project details page in the Hover web viewer at hover.to, where your office team can filter and review photos by room. A PDF version is also available to download and share. Your connected estimation platform will receive photos and measurements automatically.
I work with multiple carriers. Do I need to select a workflow before starting?
I work with multiple carriers. Do I need to select a workflow before starting?
Yes. If you have access to more than one organization's workflow, select the correct one before beginning. Starting under the wrong workflow will route your photos to the wrong estimation platform after submission.
Note: If your organization uses scan invites sent via text or email, opening that link takes you directly into the correct workflow automatically.
