1. Scan a full exterior
Start with a quick test. Use the Hover app to take exterior photos of any property. You only need 8 photos to create a complete 3D model. You’ll get an interactive digital twin and accurate measurements for roofing, siding, and openings—the foundation for everything that follows.
How to scan an exterior
In the mobile app, tap Start a project from the home screen, or tap + in the navigation menu.
Tap Exterior Measurements.
Fill in the property details.
Specify what you’re measuring: Roof only or Full exterior.
Tap Get started and follow the in-app instructions to capture and upload photos.

2. Create inspiring designs, instantly
2D Design lets you turn a photo of a home into a realistic, editable design in seconds. Show different materials, colors, and styles right on the homeowner’s property image. It’s a fast way to help them visualize options, make confident decisions, and move projects forward.
How to create a 2D design
Open the Project Details Page for the scanned property.
Tap the Design card to enter Hover Workspace.
Choose one of the photos captured during the scan as your design image.

3. Explore your 3D model
Once your project is ready, open the 3D model to see how Hover maps every surface and detail. Zoom in, check specific areas, and share the model with teammates or homeowners to collaborate and plan.
To access the 3D model:
From the measurement PDF: open the email notification, then click the link on the cover page.
From the Project Details Page: open the project and click Open 3D Model.
How to design in 3D
Use the material menu to apply products to walls, roofs, trim, and other facets.
Rotate and zoom around the model to review the design, check details, and prepare it for estimating.

4. Generate an estimate
When your Hover data is processed, you can build an Estimte right from the web or mobile app—no tracing, scaling, or manual math. Create multiple lists for the same property to compare products, colors, or pricing options.
How it works
Open your project
Select the Estimates card
Choose Start estimate
Choose how you want to scope your project:
Scope in 3D: Assign materials visually from the 3D model.
Start from a Template: Select from pre-set templates for roofing, siding, stone, or brick.
Review your quantities and adjust as needed. Hover automatically calculates materials and labor for each trade.
