Troubleshooting the missing import icon in Xactimate

If you're using Xactimate Online (XOR) or X1 and notice the import icon is missing, this article provides solutions.

The Verisk + Hover integration allows adjusters and restoration contractors to quickly estimate repair costs. With this integration, property measurements, 3D models and digital sketches flow automatically from Hover to Xactimate and XactAnalysis!

The import icon


Once you see the notification in Xactimate that measurements are ready to import, you will edit/open the project, go to the Estimate > Sketch tab and see the following import icon:

Clicking this icon will start the process of importing the Hover property measurements, 3D models and digital sketches into your project.

What if the Import Icon is missing?


If you receive a notification stating that Hover measurements are ready to import, but the icon is not in the upper left corner of the sketch window, where it should be, keep reading for possible solutions.

First, doublecheck that you are in the "2D view" rather than the "3D view". In the bottom right corner, there are two icons: one is the 2D icon and the other is the 3D icon.

  • Click the 2D icon which is to the left of the darker, 3D icon:

  • If the view changes from 3D to 2D and the import icon still does not appear, review the additional troubleshooting solutions, below.

Click the arrows to expand or collapse additional information.

OPTION 1: Sync Xactimate

  • Click the "sync" icon in the upper right corner of Xactimate*

  • Try importing the data again

*This option is for X1, only.

OPTION 2: Upload to cloud (X1)

  • Click Save and Exit on the project:

  • Ensure the project is still highlighted on the Local Projects page and click the cloud icon to "send to cloud"

    • The cloud icon is the 4th icon on the right

  • Click on the Cloud tab in the left hand menu

    • Highlight the project by clicking the empty checkbox

    • To download it to the Local Projects page again, click the cloud icon which is the 3rd icon from the top, on the right side of the screen

  • Back on the Local Projects page, click the project so that it's highlighted in blue

  • Click on the pencil icon which is the 6th icon from the top, on the right side of the screen

  • On the new window, you will see "Estimate" listed on the left side of the screen

  • Click Estimate and then click the “Sketch” tab

  • Click the import icon in the top left corner of the sketch window

    • You will see the Hover measurement data is available to pull in

    • Click Import

OPTION 3: Save and Exit (Xactimate Online)

  • Click Save and Exit on the project:

  • Try importing the data again

*This option is for Xactimate Online (XOR), only.

OPTION 4: Wait and try again

  • Wait 10-15 minutes

  • Try to import the data again
