Porches, decks, and patios

What structures are modeled from a Hover exterior scan?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

What is included in a Hover project depends on one key factor: whether the structure has a roof.

In general, Hover captures and measures roofed structures as part of the home. Structures without a roof are typically not included in the 3D model or measurement pdf.

  • Included: Roofed structures such as porches

    • Balconies: Included at a basic level without detailed features like railings

  • Not included: Non-roofed structures such as decks and patios

Porches

Porches usually have a roof, so they are included in Hover projects.

  • For Full Exterior jobs (roof and walls), porches will appear in the 3D model

  • Porch measurements will be included in the PDF report

Balconies

Existing balconies that are part of the home are included, but with limited detail.

  • Balconies will appear in the model

  • Fine details, such as railings, are not captured

Decks and Patios

Decks and patios typically do not have a roof, so they are not included in the 3D model or measurement PDF.
