3D Measurements

From scan to certainty. Review measurements on the 3D model.

Updated yesterday

Measurements mode puts the 3D model and measurements in one place. Measurements show up directly on the model and update as you switch between areas, so you can see the numbers and the surfaces together without jumping between tools.

We're rolling out a new and updated experience! If your app looks different, you may be on our legacy experience.

Access Measurements mode

You can enter Measurements mode from either the project details page or from within Workspace, depending on where you are in your workflow.

From the Project Details Page

  • Select the Measurements card

  • Choose the 3D option to open Workspace in Measurements mode

From within Workspace

  • Use the feature switcher in the action bar

  • Select Measurements

Navigating Measurements mode

When Measurements mode opens, Walls is selected by default and measurements appear directly on the model. Below is an overview of the core tools you will use in Measurements mode.

Menu

The left-hand panel complements the model by displaying segment-level information and totals for the active selection. This structure makes it easy to understand both the layout of the model and the measurements behind each surface.

Tap each trade to quickly switch between areas such as:

  • Walls

  • Roof

  • Siding

  • Trim, fascia, and soffits

  • Openings including windows, doors, and garages

The model and the measurement list will update to reflect your selection.

Facet selection

You can click any wall, roof facet, trim, or opening on the 3D model to reveal its specific measurements in the panel, making it easy to find the details you need.

Double-clicking any area of the model zooms you into that section so you can review its measurements in more detail.

Action bar

Any selection you make in the left panel or on the 3D model appears in the action bar so you always know what is selected.

From the action bar, you can select all segments in the category, clear the selection, or view the materials applied within that category. Choosing a filter adjusts the view to all the facets with that material applied.

Rotate the model

You can rotate and zoom-in on the 3D model to view the property from any angle, making it easier to see all measurements in context.

Download the original pdf

Select Download Original PDF to open the project’s measurement PDF. This PDF always reflects the original 3D model and does not incorporate saved design changes.

Design choices update the measurements shown on the 3D model in Workspace, but the downloadable PDF always reflects the original scan and model.

Creating a custom measurement

Custom Measure lets you draw your own distance lines directly on the 3D model in Workspace. You can add multiple measurements at once, keep them visible as you move around the model, and adjust or remove them whenever needed. This makes it easier to double-check distances without breaking your flow.

How to access custom measure

You can access Custom Measure in Measurement Mode within Workspace.

  • From the Project Details Page, Select the Measurements card

  • Choose the 3D option to open Workspace in Measurements mode

  • Select the Measure button (ruler) in the action bar

Draw a custom line measurement

While in Custom Measure mode:

  • Click on the model to place a starting point

  • Drag to create a line measurement

  • Release to place the measurement on the model

  • You can create as many custom measurements as you'd like

The measurement(s) stay visible as you rotate, zoom, or continue reviewing the property. You can also view custom line measurements in 3D mode to see the relevant applied materials.

Edit or remove a custom measurement

Click any existing measurement to select it.

  • Select the edit icon

  • Drag the endpoints to reposition or resize the measurement

  • Tap the check icon to confirm your changes and lock the measurement in place

If you no longer need the measurement, select it again and choose the trash icon to delete it from the model.
