Answers to frequent Guided Estimate questions

Tip: When generating a Guided Estimate, make sure your Hover email matches your Xactimate email, and your project’s claim number in Hover matches your claim number in Xactimate.

Below is a list of answers to common questions you may have about Hover's Guided Estimate feature.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

What other trades do you plan to support?

We plan to support the following trades very soon:

  • Commercial / Flat Roof (PVC/TPO, EPDM)

  • Gutters

  • Elevation (Siding)

The following trades are not yet supported, but are on our roadmap for 2025:

  • Exterior Paint

  • Trim

  • Soffit

  • Fascia

Can I start a guided estimate before the Hover measurements are ready?

Yes. After you make all your initial template selections and apply the project's scope, Hover saves all those previous inputs!

Later on when you click Edit Scope, you can edit only what you need to.

Can I customize these templates to align with my estimate guidelines?

Yes! To get started, reach out to your Hover contact to make any Guided Estimate customization requests.

Is the waste factor included in the guided estimate?

Waste factor is not included in the guided estimate by default. However, we can work with you to create a customized template collection to meet your waste factor needs and preferences.

What occurs if multiple people are estimating the same job?

Hover does not display concurrent users. However, we have added an audit log so it is clear to see who has made what changes.

Once a Guided Estimate is sent to Xactimate, the Guided Estimates sent-status and timestamp will appear on the top left.

Within a guided estimate, is there a way to track who has performed which action?

Yes! We've added an Audit Log functionality that allows you to view and export the full version history.

INTEGRATION-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS

Is Guided Estimate compatible with Claims Workspace™ (FKA Settle Assist)?

No. Guided Estimates is limited to Xactimate, at this time.

Can I send the estimate to Xactimate from my mobile device while in the field?

Absolutely. Guided Estimate is available on both the Hover web and mobile app.

Can I resend an estimate, and if so, will it override the previous one?

Yes, a guided estimate can be resent to Xactimate, creating a new estimate instance without overriding the previous one.

Is real-time Xactimate pricing available in the guided estimate?

No, Hover's Guided Estimate product does not display pricing or receive real-time regional pricing from Xactimate.

How will I know if my Guided Estimate was already sent to Xactimate?

The Guided Estimate page displays whether an estimate has already been sent to Xactimate, along with a timestamp for when it was sent.
