Scan every level of a property (e.g., main floor, upper floor, and basement) in one interior Hover project to keep the whole claim in one place, rather than spread across multiple projects. Add or rename levels anytime during the workflow, scan and complete inspection tasks in whichever order makes the most sense to you, then submit everything together.
Note: This update is part of a phased release and may not be available to all users yet. If your experience looks different, or you’d like early access, please contact our Support team.
How multi-level projects work
Think of it as one project with multiple levels inside it.
All levels share one Hover Job ID.
All levels appear on the same project details page.
For Xactimate and Cotality integrations, all levels import into the same claim.
Start the project and add levels
Note: These steps and visuals assume your account has Hover Inspections enabled. If you don’t, your Overview screen will look largely the same, just without inspection entry points.
From the mobile app, tap Start a project.
Choose Interior measurements.
Enter the property details and tap Get started.
On the Overview screen, tap Add level for each additional floor. You can add up to 20 levels per project.
Levels are auto-named and numbered (Level 1, Level 2, and so on).
To rename a level, tap the ellipsis “...”.
You can add or rename levels anytime before you submit the project.
You can also delete levels before you submit, as long as you haven’t completed the measurement scan for that level. Once a level is scanned, it cannot be deleted and will be included in the final submission of the project.
Scan and inspect in any order
The Overview screen is your hub. From here, you can complete each level’s measurement scan and inspection tasks in any order. Completed, in-progress, and not-yet-started tasks are visually distinct at a glance.
From the Overview screen, choose the level you want to start with, then begin the measurement scan or the inspection tasks.*
When you have finished successfully scanning a level, tap Start inspection to move into its inspection tasks, or tap Go to overview to skip them.
*Important: You can start, exit, and return to inspection tasks anytime. You cannot exit an interior measurement scan partway through and return to it later. Complete each level’s measurement scan in one continuous session.
Submit your project
When you’re ready, tap Submit from the bottom of the Overview screen.
Review the pop-up. It asks you to confirm if you’re ready to submit and lists any incomplete tasks.
You can submit the project with incomplete tasks if you wish, as long as the incomplete tasks were never started. If incomplete tasks were started but unfinished, you cannot submit the project until they’re done.
Confirm to submit.
Models and measurements aren’t returned until the project is submitted. Interior scans are billed once, based on the total square footage across all levels.
Important: Incomplete inspection tasks can be finished after submission, but measurement scans cannot. Make sure every level that requires measurements has been scanned before you submit.
View each level
After Hover finishes everything for your interior project, you can access the measurements, models, and other features for each level from the same project details page.
On mobile:
Open the Project Details Page.
Tap the pill below the project details (top center).
Select the level you want to view from the pop-up menu.
On web:
Open the Project Details Page.
Select the pill at the top of the page to choose a level from the drop-down menu.
