Scan and inspect structures or levels in any order

You can now complete your inspection tasks and scan structures or levels in any order.

What's New? When completing a multi-structure or multi-level project, you can name your structures or levels up front, then complete the scan and inspection tasks in any order. You can also add or delete structures anytime before submission, or submit your scan with incomplete inspection tasks.

Overview

Scanning a multi-structure or multi-level project used to require you to follow a very specific workflow: scan one structure or level at a time, then complete the inspection tasks for that structure/level before scanning any others.

With this new release you have more flexibility onsite: Add, delete, or rename structures anytime during the workflow, and complete the scans and inspection tasks in whichever order makes the most sense to you, depending on the complexity of the project.

Note: This update is part of a phased release and may not be available to all users yet. If your experience looks different, or you'd like early access, please contact our Support team.

How it works

Note: The steps and visuals in this article assume your account also has the Hover Inspection feature enabled.

Start a multi-structure or multi-level project:

  • From the mobile app, select Start a project

  • Choose either Exterior measurements or Interior measurements

  • Fill out the property details and tap Get started

Complete the scan:

  • You will see a new Overview screen. It acts as the "hub" from which you can complete your scan and inspection tasks in any order.

    • The completed, in-progress, and not-yet-started tasks will be visually distinct at a glance.

  • If you want to add additional structures or levels, tap the appropriate button: Add structure or Add level.

    • These additions will be auto-named and numbered (e.g., Level 1, Level 2, etc.)

    • To rename a structure or level, tap the ellipses "..."

    • You can add or delete levels anytime before the final submission.

  • Complete the scan per usual:

  • When you've finished a structure or level, you will see options to either start the inspection tasks right away, or return to the Overview screen

    • Tap Start inspection if you want to proceed with those tasks.

    • Tap Go to overview if you prefer to skip the inspection tasks.

Pro Tip: When completing exterior scans for multi-structure projects, we recommend scanning each structure before completing inspection tasks. This ensures the measurements and models are returned as soon as possible since they will begin processing as soon as all required photos are received in-app.

Submit your project

  • When you're ready, tap Submit from the bottom of the Overview screen.

    • A pop-up notification will ask if you are ready to submit the project and will remind you of incomplete tasks, if applicable. You can submit the project with incomplete tasks, if you wish.

Pro Tip: Incomplete inspection tasks can be finished after the submission, but measurement scans cannot. Make sure every structure or level that requires measurements has been properly scanned before your final submission.

What if my company doesn't use Hover Inspections?

Coming Soon:

If you do not have Hover Inspections enabled for your org, you will still have the option to scan structures/levels in any order:

Why this is better

  • More flexibility onsite: Every task on every structure or level is available from the start.

  • No mid-flow surprises: Structure and level count can be fully set up at the beginning, so you're not discovering you can add more halfway through.

  • Incomplete inspection tasks don't prevent submission: Only inspection tasks you started but didn't finish will delay the option to submit the whole project.
