When creating a siding estimate within the hover.to web portal, you’ll be taken to a screen depicting an interactive 3D model with all the siding facades included in the job. This article will show you how to use this visually intuitive scoping tool to deliver accurate estimates for siding.
NOTE: While this article focuses primarily on siding estimates, this same tool can be used for roofing estimates - whether you want to complete just a roofing estimate or a combined roofing and siding estimate.
Getting started
From the property details page, click CREATE AN ESTIMATE, select the project scope and click Next
If our system recognizes a considerable amount of time has passed since the job was originally created, you'll see the following recommendation banner to ask HOVER Support ([email protected]) to ensure the measurements are as up-to-date as possible:
Facades Selection tab
If the job is a full siding estimate:
You don't need to do anything under the Facades Selection tab! All the siding facades will already be pre-selected and you'll see the total square foot measurement at the bottom of the screen.
You shouldn't need to make any changes under the Line Segments tab either, but you can click that tab to double-check the measurements look accurate.
To proceed with the estimate, simply click Next
If the job is a partial siding estimate:
You can change the siding facade selections in multiple ways:
Deselect specific facades on the 3D model
Deselect specific facade tiles on the right side of the screen
Click the Select all checkbox in the upper right corner which will deselect everything so you can proactively select the facades you want for the job
Line Segments tab
If the job is a full siding estimate:
You don't need to do anything under the Line Segments tab! Since all the pre-selected siding facades remain unchanged under the previous tab, you shouldn't need to make any changes under the Line Segments tab, either.
However, you can click that tab to double-check the measurements look accurate. If everything is accurate, the measurements on the right side of the screen will match the measurement directly below that field. (Due to a small rounding difference, the numbers will not match exactly)
To proceed with the estimate, simply click Next
If the job is a full siding estimate:
You'll see the following:
A banner message that line segments have been updated based on partial siding selection
The interactive 3D model with the partial siding selections still active from the previous page
The revised line segment measurement to the right with the original measurement listed in small print below it
The updated total square footage measurement of all siding selections at the bottom of the screen
To proceed with the estimate process, click Next
