What's new? The Inspections camera now includes a Quick Actions Bar that appears automatically after you snap a photo. From the bar, you can add a tag, write a note, or annotate the photo — all without leaving the camera view. Markup that previously required navigating away from the camera now takes three taps.
Overview
When you're documenting a loss site, every extra step adds up. The Quick Actions Bar brings tagging, notes, and annotations directly into the camera experience, so you can mark up each photo the moment you take it and move immediately to the next shot.
Better markup at capture means a more complete claim file — labeled photos, written descriptions, and annotated damage documentation ready to accompany your measurements when you import into Xactimate or Claims Workspace.
Note: This update is part of a phased release and may not be available to all users yet. If your experience looks different, or you'd like early access, please contact our Support team.
Quick Actions Bar
After you tap the shutter button, the Quick Actions Bar animates onto the camera screen. The bar displays three actions — Tag, Note, and Annotate — alongside a thumbnail of the photo you just captured, so it's always clear which photo you're marking up.
You can complete one or more actions before dismissing the bar. Once dismissed, the camera remains live and ready for your next shot. If you snap another photo before dismissing the bar, the bar updates to reflect the latest photo.
How to use the Quick Actions Bar:
Open your inspection and navigate to the task you're documenting
Frame your shot in the live camera viewfinder and tap the shutter button
The Quick Actions Bar animates onto the screen
Tap Tag, Note, or Annotate to mark up the photo
Complete your markup, then tap Done or dismiss the bar to return to the live camera
Tip: You can perform multiple actions on the same photo before dismissing the bar. After adding a tag, the bar stays visible so you can also add a note or annotation without leaving the camera.
Tags
The Tag action opens a dedicated tag selection UI directly within the Quick Actions Bar. Tags are no longer combined with notes — you can select a damage type in three taps and return immediately to the camera.
How to add a tag:
After snapping a photo, tap the Tag icon in the Quick Actions Bar
Select the damage type from the tag options displayed
If your workflow includes more tags than fit on screen, tap More tags to view the full list
Tap your selection. A confirmation toast confirms which tag was applied.
The bar remains visible if you want to add a note or annotation to the same photo
Note: The Tag icon will only appear if there are tags available for a specific task. If tags have not been set up for that inspection task, the icon will not appear in the Quick Actions Bar.
Notes
The Note action opens a dedicated text input (i.e. Description) directly within the Quick Actions Bar. Writing a description now takes three taps — no combined form, no additional navigation.
How to add a note:
After snapping a photo, tap the text icon (Aa) in the Quick Actions Bar
Type your description in the text field
Tap Done. A confirmation toast confirms the note was saved
The bar remains visible if you want to add a tag or annotation to the same photo
Note: If you prefer to use voice-to-text to leave your note, tap the mic icon that appears in the description box.
Annotations
The Annotate action allows you to draw on your photo — adding arrows, circles, or text to call out specific damage — without leaving the Inspections camera.
How to annotate a photo:
After snapping a photo, tap Annotate in the Quick Actions Bar
Use the drawing tools to mark up the photo
Tap Done when your annotation is complete. A confirmation toast confirms it was saved.
You are returned to the live camera
Why this is better
Previously, adding a tag or note required navigating away from the live camera to a combined tag and note screen, completing the markup, and navigating back. At a typical loss site with dozens or hundreds of photos, that friction added up across every shot.
Fewer taps per photo: Markup that previously required 5+ taps now takes 3 — tap the action, complete it, dismiss. That reduction compounds across a full inspection.
No navigation away from the camera: The Quick Actions Bar overlays the live viewfinder, so you stay oriented and ready for the next shot throughout the entire documentation session.
Clearer photo association: The bar displays a thumbnail of the photo you just captured, so there's no ambiguity about which photo you're marking up.
More complete claim files: Faster markup means less friction to skip it. Photos that go untagged or without description create gaps that are harder to fill after the fact. The Quick Actions Bar makes it practical to mark up every photo as you go.
Having a unified, intentional sharing flow makes it easier to bring the right people into a project with the right level of access without extra back-and-forth or workarounds.
