How do I create an estimate from a 3D Design?

Build production-ready estimates directly from your 3D model in Hover.

Updated yesterday

When you finish designing a project in Hover, choosing specific shingles, siding, and finishes, you can save your design and immediately start your estimate. You’ll pick the template(s) that fit your project, and Hover will automatically fill in your design choices to create a complete, measurement-based estimate without any extra data entry.

In the estimation view, you can review the details: edit costs, add variations, or fine-tune any line items as needed.

How it works

  • From your Project Details Page, open the 3D model of your property.

  • Customize the Design: Choose your preferred materials—such as roof shingles, siding, or trim—and apply them to the model.

    • Example: Select GAF Timberline shingles for the roof and board-and-batten siding for the walls.

  • Click Save to capture your selections. You’ll name and save it before starting your estimate.

  • Tap Start Estimate.

  • Select the appropriate template(s) (for example, Timberline for roofing). Hover automatically maps your design choices to an estimate template with the most relevant line items that correspond to your design.

  • Click Create Estimate to generate your production estimate. Your selected materials and variations automatically populate into the estimate view.
