Find and apply materials faster in Workspace

The new location of the Material Group Menu makes designing even easier.

Updated this week

What's new? The Material Group Menu in Workspace has moved to the top left corner of your screen so you can now access all material groups immediately when you open a property's 3D model. This change makes selecting areas and applying materials faster and more intuitive.

Overview

You no longer need to search through the Action Bar options at the bottom of Workspace because the Material Group Menu is now visible in the top left corner. Available to all Workspace users, this update allows you to open a 3D model and edit its surfaces in fewer clicks.

The Material Group Menu and its new location streamlines your design workflow. You'll see the material options automatically - simply click a material category (e.g. Walls) to start editing. Depending on your project scope, you have the ability to update facets individually, or easily grab an entire group of material to update in a single click (e.g. updating all Blue Hardie Lap Siding to White Hardie Board and Batten).

How to use it

  • Open a property in Workspace

  • In the top left corner of your screen you’ll immediately see the new placement of the Material Group Menu:

  • Click the menu to view all available material groups

  • Select your material group to begin applying materials to surfaces

Pro Tip: The Material Group Menu collapses as you scroll but can be reopened with the shortcut toggle that appears in its place. Clicking it reopens the menu so you can switch to a different material group without interrupting your workflow.

Why this is better

The new location makes your design process more efficient:

  • Access materials instantly without hunting through the action bar options

  • Start editing surfaces faster with immediate material visibility

  • Switch between material groups seamlessly while you work

  • Clearly see what materials and facets have been selected and scoped

  • Complete design projects with fewer clicks and less frustration

You'll spend less time navigating Workspace and more time creating accurate project designs.
