The first time you open the Virtual Walkthrough, a short tour opens automatically. It shows you where each control now lives, so you can find what you need without having to hunt for it.

The left-hand panel now holds a photo gallery of every photo captured automatically during the scan. This replaces the previous navigation and uses the same pattern seen across other Hover 3D products.

The 3D/Virtual toggle that previously sat at the top center of the screen has been renamed and incorporated into the action bar at the bottom of the screen, alongside other controls. It's now labeled Photo mesh but works exactly as it did before:

Turn photo mesh on to see the property's real surfaces and materials on the model. Turn it off to see the CAD model only.

Selecting the top-down camera angle, with photo mesh disabled, now shows the property footprint with room names and square footage, laid out to mirror the Xactimate sketch and the first page of your Hover measurement PDF.

When you are in Free Roam mode, you're placed in the 3D space with a first-person view. The photo carousel at the bottom of the screen will appear as usual, but now with an updated look and a new Play button. Clicking this button replays the scan in sequence, photo-by-photo.

As it plays, the highest-fidelity photo stays centered so you get a clearer view than a static wide-angle shot. You can also still move through the carousel manually with the arrow keys or by clicking left and right.

Photo blending is different from Photo mesh. When you're in Free Roam mode with photo mesh turned off, you will see the CAD model of the space. Photo blending will be enabled by default, and it lets you "walk" through the CAD model while a single high-fidelity photo of the room you're in stays visible. It's useful for orienting yourself and for checking material detail.

There are instances where you may want photo blending off. If a photo is covering the exact edge you're trying to measure, turning it off gives a clean CAD surface to place your line measurement against.

Previously, measuring an irregular damaged area (e.g., a flood cut, or a section of wall needing repair) meant placing two line measurements and calculating the area yourself. Now, the new Area measure feature returns the square footage directly.

Areas of the model that weren't captured with enough photo coverage now appear in a plain blue color. Hover your cursor over a blue area and a no coverage label confirms what you're looking at.

These gaps indicate areas that weren’t captured during the scan. Next time, make sure to scan the entire space to avoid missing any areas. Previously, an area like this rendered as a blurry, blended mesh which was easy to mistake for a problem with the platform. The blue treatment makes it clear that the area simply wasn't captured.

Sharing isn't new, but it's worth emphasizing since shared links let contractors or policyholders open the Virtual Walkthrough without a Hover account of their own. This makes it the cleanest way to hand off documentation.

You can extend or delete a shared link at any time.

During the initial scan of the property, that area wasn't captured with enough photo coverage. It isn't a platform error. If you need coverage there, the area has to be scanned again on a return visit.

It moved from the top of the screen to the action bar at the bottom, and it's now labeled Photo mesh. Same function, new name and location.

They're separate toggles that can be used independently. Photo mesh applies the property's real surfaces to the whole model. Photo blending shows a single high-fidelity photo of the room you're standing in while you move through the CAD model.

Yes. Click the question-mark icon in the top-left navigation menu.

Yes. Use Share (paper airplane icon) to generate a password-protected link, valid for 45 days. The recipient doesn't need a Hover account, and you can extend the expiration date, or delete the link at any time.
