In this article, we cover how to leverage the Verisk + HOVER integration when you're starting in X1, capturing either an exterior or interior job through a HOVER Invite to Capture, and then finishing the estimate in X1 once the measurements are ready.

NOTE: All Xactimate screenshots in this article reference the desktop version of Xactimate, X1. Some differences will exist if you're using Xactimate Online (XOR).

NOTE: The workflow outlined below shows the minimum amount of information required for the integration to function. You may need to enter more information for your specific process than what is covered here.

Request Data

This process assumes that the carrier's Verisk integration settings have been setup within HOVER to automatically send an Invite to Capture to Independent Adjusters, rather than the original method which is to create a draft job in the IA's app to be automatically billed to the carrier's organization through shared wallet access.

To get started, follow the steps below to request data from HOVER for an existing project in X1:

  • On the Local Projects screen in Xactimate, click on your project so it’s highlighted in blue

  • Click on the house icon which is the 5th icon from the top, on the right side of the screen

  • A pop-up window titled “Request Data” will appear.

    • Select Property Data (even if you are using HOVER for just roof measurements)

    • Click NEXT

  • Select one of the HOVER options from the provider drop-down list:

    • Use HOVER Roof for roof only measurements

    • Use HOVER Interior for interior floor plans/measurements

    • Use HOVER Roof and Walls for complete roof and elevation measurements

    • Validate that the data entered in the "Request data" window is correct

    • Click OK

  • You will immediately see a notification that says: "Succeeded"

Capturing a Property in HOVER via the Invite to Capture

Prior to this step, you will have already received a text message and/or email informing you that you've been requested to gather measurements for a specific property.

  • When onsite at the loss location, tap the link from the text or email message (if using the link from the email message, make sure you're accessing it from a smartphone or other mobile device, rather than a laptop):

    • If you already have the HOVER app, it will take you to that specific property and you can start capturing photos

    • If you don’t yet have the HOVER app, it will first take you to the app store, then guide you through some introductory screens to get your user account set up (as shown in the example image below):

  • All of the claim details auto-populate from Xactimate

  • Tap Take Photos

  • Capture the HOVER photos as normal -

    • For exteriors, walk around the property taking a photo of each face and corner

    • For interiors, follow the in-app instructions

  • Add damage photos, if desired

  • Tap Continue when done taking photos

  • Tap Finish so HOVER can start processing the job:

  • HOVER will notify you when the job is complete

Importing HOVER Data into Xactimate

  • You'll be notified in Xactimate when the measurements are ready

  • Back on the Local Projects page, click the project so that it's highlighted in blue

  • Click on the pencil icon which is the 6th icon from the top, on the right side of the screen

  • On the new window, you’ll see the estimator tool on the left side of the screen.

    • Under “Estimate” choose the “Sketch” tab

  • Click the icon in the top left corner of the sketch window

    • You'll see the HOVER measurement data is available to pull in

    • Click Import

  • The HOVER 2D/3D sketch and measurements will import into your working estimate

    • If it's an interior job, the sketch will resemble:

    • If it's an exterior job, the sketch will resemble:

  • From the estimator tool, you can access the Measurement PDF.

    • Click on "Documents", and then click the Reports tab

    • Click the Documents tab

    • Click the Attached Docs tab

  • From the estimator tool, you can click the "Photos" tab to see all the imported photos for each structure in one place (including damage and annotated photos, if applicable).

    • HOVER photos imported via the Verisk integration are labeled with the location they were taken around the property (i.e. Front, Front Right, Right, Back Right, etc.)
