In this article, we cover how restoration contractors or insurance adjusters can leverage the Verisk + HOVER integration when starting with an Existing HOVER Job and using the desktop version of Xactimate, X1.

NOTE: All Xactimate screenshots reference the desktop version, X1. Some differences will exist if using Xactimate Online (XOR).

NOTE: The workflow outlined below shows the minimum amount of information required for the integration to function. You may need to enter more information for your specific process than is covered here.

NOTE: The workflow depends on the claim number or lead number matching between HOVER and Xactimate. If you’re working in the home restoration business, you’ll see promptings for a lead number, but if you’re working in the insurance field, you’ll see promptings for a claim number.

Request Data

Prior to starting this process, it is assumed that the HOVER job has already been completed and the measurements are ready to pull in to X1.

If you're partnering with a Ladder Assist company: you'll know a job is ready once you've received a notification from that company. Alternatively, you can verify the job status by searching the claim number, property address, or insured's name on the HOVER portal (hover.to). If the job says "Done", it's ready to be imported.

It's also very important that the claim number / lead number on the HOVER job matches the claim or lead number in X1, exactly. If you need to edit the number within HOVER, that can be done in the mobile app or on the web portal:

  • On the Local Projects screen in Xactimate, click on your project so it’s highlighted in blue

  • Click on the house icon which is the 5th icon from the top, on the right side of the screen

  • A pop-up window titled “Request Data” will appear.

    • Select Property Data (even if you are using HOVER for just roof measurements)

    • Click NEXT

  • Select one of the HOVER options from the provider drop-down list:

    • Use HOVER Roof for roof only measurements

    • Use HOVER Interior for interior floor plans/measurements

    • Use HOVER Roof and Walls for complete roof and elevation measurements

  • Validate the data entered is correct and pay close attention to the Claim Number / Lead Number since that needs to match between HOVER and Xactimate

    • Click OK

  • You will immediately see a notification that says: "Succeeded"

Importing HOVER Data into Xactimate

  • Back on the Local Projects page, click the project so that it's highlighted in blue

  • On the new window, you’ll see the estimator tool on the left side of the screen. Under “Estimate” choose the “Sketch” tab

  • Click the icon in the top left corner of the sketch window

    • You'll see the HOVER measurement data is available to pull in

    • Click Import

  • The HOVER 2D/3D sketch and measurements will import into your working estimate

    • If it's an interior job, the sketch will resemble:

    • If it’s an exterior job, the sketch will resemble:

  • From the estimator tool, you can access the Measurement PDF.

    • Click on "Documents", and then click the Reports tab

    • Click the Documents tab
