What's New? Admins can now add custom fields to certain agreement templates to capture additional project details (e.g., date of loss / storm date, loss type, etc.).
Overview
Some agreements need to be signed before you've built an estimate and in many cases, you may want to add specific details that Hover’s list of insertable fields do not include. That’s why Hover now offers custom fields that admins can set up once, and add to any non-estimate agreement template. Then as reps generate an agreement, they are prompted to fill in those fields prior to collecting e-signatures.
Set up custom fields (admins)
Custom fields can be used alongside Hover's existing variables, and setting them up is easy.
How to create custom fields:
Go to Estimate Preferences > Agreements.
Select Add field in the Custom fields section and fill out the pop-up:
Type the field name (e.g., Date of loss, Loss type)
(Optional) Enter a preset value. Reps can change it when they create the agreement.
(Optional) Use the toggle to mark the field as required.
Select Create.
How to add custom fields to non-estimate agreement templates:
If your template doesn’t exist yet, you will need to create it:
Click Add template.
Enter the template name.
Configure e-signature and signee details.
Select Without estimate. This allows the agreement to be generated without the requirement of a completed estimate.
Select Create.
Select Edit to start building the document.
Add as many sections as needed for the structure of your document. For each section, choose how you're adding content:
Upload a page: Upload a PDF if your content already exists as a file.
Text-based: Paste or type text-based content directly into the section.
Use the drop down menus to insert variables which will auto-fill customer and job details, including:
Customer 1 name
Customer 1 email
Customer 1 phone
Customer 2 name
Customer 2 email
Customer 2 phone
Customer address
Customer city
Customer state
Customer zip
Signee 1 initials
Signee 1 signature
Signee 2 initials
Signee 2 signature
Notes
Insert the custom field variables where you want each value to appear.
Click Save.
Tip: Use existing Hover variables for details Hover already has, such as homeowner name, and only create custom fields for information Hover doesn't capture.
Create a non-estimate agreement (reps)
Once an admin has set up the template, you can create the agreement either before or after you scan the property. You don't need to wait for the measurements and model to finish.
How to create an agreement that uses custom fields:
Complete your Hover scan.
From the project details page, start a new agreement and choose your non-estimate template.
Complete the custom fields when prompted.
If a field has a preset value, change it if it doesn't fit the project. For example, change a preset loss type of hail to wind.
Enter the homeowner's name and email address. The email address is used to send the agreement for signatures.
Review the agreement. Hover fills in your entries alongside existing project details.
Download the agreement, or send it to the homeowner for signature in Hover.
Why this is better
Include all the details your agreements need. Add fields and make them required so reps don't skip them.
Set them up once, reuse everywhere. Custom fields live at the organization level, so every rep uses the same fields across agreements.
Save time with presets. Set a default value and let reps change it for the project in front of them.
Keep it all in Hover. Download the agreement or send it for signature without leaving the platform.
