Measurements are built directly into the 3D experience. They show up on the model and update as you switch between areas, so you can see the numbers and the surfaces together without jumping between tools.

We're rolling out a new update to the design experience that is not available to all users yet. If your app looks different, you're either on our legacy experience, or you're seeing the new design.
Accessing measurements in 3D
From the project details page, you can enter the same 3D experience whether you enter from the 3D Design card, or the Measurements card.
Start designing in 3D: Opens the 3D model in the materials view
3D from the Measurements card: Opens the 3D model in the measurement view

Note: Insurance pros will see a similar experience with minor differences.
Below is an overview of the core tools you will use to view measurements on the 3D model:
Menu
Menu
The left-hand panel complements the model by displaying facet totals, and segment-level information for the active selection, with measurements shown inline on each material group. This structure makes it easy to understand both the layout of the model and the measurements behind each surface.
Tap each trade category to quickly switch between areas such as:
Walls
Roof
Siding
Shutters
Trim, fascia, and soffits
Openings including windows, doors, and garages
The 3D model, and the material groups listed in the side panel, will update to reflect your selection.

To reveal specific measurements in the panel for certain wall(s), roof facet(s), trim, etc. on the 3D model, use the Facet and Segment toggles to see measurement totals and details for the area you're viewing. To get to those toggles:
Click or tap any wall, roof facet, etc. on the 3D model itself.
The panel will update automatically to show the appropriate material group card and its total facet measurements for the area you selected
Select the total facet measurement to open the broader Facet and Segment information
Use the Facet toggle to see facet labels and area
Use the Segment toggle to see edge measurements for roof and wall categories
The model updates automatically as you switch
Double-clicking any area of the model zooms you into that section so you can review its measurements in more detail.
Design choices update the measurements shown on the 3D model in Workspace, but the downloadable PDF always reflects the original scan and model.
Creating a custom measurement
Custom Measure lets you draw your own distance lines directly on the 3D model. You can add multiple measurements at once, keep them visible as you move around the model, and adjust or remove them whenever needed. This makes it easier to double-check distances without breaking your flow.
Draw a custom line measurement
Draw a custom line measurement
While in Custom Measure mode:
Click on the model to place a starting point
Move your cursor to the location where the endpoint needs to be placed
Click to place the measurement on the model
You can create as many custom measurements as you'd like
The measurement(s) stay visible as you rotate, zoom, or continue reviewing the property. You can also view custom line measurements in 3D mode to see the relevant applied materials.
Snapping a custom line measurement
Snapping a custom line measurement
As soon as you enter Custom Measure mode, you will notice a toggle for Snapping. When enabled, the endpoint will automatically attach to nearby edges and align with parallel geometry, reducing small placement errors. You can disable snapping any time, if you want more flexibility.
Edit or remove a custom measurement
Edit or remove a custom measurement
Click any existing measurement to select it.
Select the edit icon
Drag the endpoints to reposition or resize the measurement
Tap the check icon to confirm your changes and lock the measurement in place
If you no longer need the measurement, select it again and choose the trash icon to delete it from the model.
